First attempt Second attempt In the last week of this semester, I sketched a rainbow feather. It was a very challenging and difficult task because I didn't know how to blend the colors well with colored pencils. In this semester, I focused more on sketching and adding the values to my drawings. My goal is to know how to sketch facial features, and I think I did a good job because my teacher encouraged me a lot. After I knew how to sketch facial features, I wanted to learn how to use colored pencils better to make my drawings look more realistic, to add color to my drawings. But I didn't have enough time to learn it in school, but I'll definitely make more drawings and try to "art" better!

In the past 4 weeks, I've been working on adding values to my drawing. It is very difficult because different lines have different values and especially for the hair. For the red strings, I used color pencils (red and brown), I used red for the main color and brown for adding values to make it look 3-dimensional. For the 2 people, I chose to use gray scale because I really want the red string to stand out. It is very difficult because I wasn't looking at a picture, so I didn't really know which part should be darker and which part should be lighter. I learned that using different colors of color pencils can create values, and I also learned how to add values to hairs and clothing.
A drawing of a men A drawing of a women The final drawing fro now I have been working on this piece of artwork for scholastic. This drawing is about a story from China. The Chinese believed that everyone's faith is connected through a red string to someone. In this drawing I drew a women and a men to show to their fates are tied together. This drawing was completed by pencil. I used different lines to show the details. The drawing is not finish yet but I planned on using shading to bring it to life.
A pencil drawing of an eye Another pencil drawing of an eye A pencil drawing of a mouth Another pencil drawing of a mouth s In week 5-8, I've drawn a lot of eyes and mouths. I've been practicing how to draw eyes, mouths and noses for the past 4 weeks. In weeks 5 and 6, I practiced how to draw eyes. It was really fun but it was challenging because the shapes of eyes were very difficult to draw. I learned that by using different pencils you can create different values and you can make your drawings look realistic. In week 7, I worked on how to draw noses. But I didn't draw any noses that made me feel proud enough to post. I learned that it is very difficult to draw a nose because of the shapes and you need to use different values to make it look realistic. In the 8 week I worked on how to draw mouths, it is really fun to draw mouths, the most difficult and challenging part is to make the lips even, but I had a lot of fun with creating different values to make the mouth look realistic.
Pencil drawing of a lego Colored pencils drawing of a tomato Tie dyed t-shirt !!! Collage !! In week 1-4, I created many pieces of arts. The first piece I did in Art 1 was a sketch of a Lego. I learned how to sketch for a year when I was in 5th grade, so it's kinda familiar to me. I sketched the Lego's outline then I added the shades and blended it with a blending pencil. In the 2nd week, I drew a tomato with colored pencils. I sketch the outline with a pencil, and I used colored pencils to finish the drawing. It was really fun to draw the tomato but it was also challenging. I learned that you can use different colors to draw the shades and make it look realistic. I tie dyed a shirt in the 3rd week. It was really fun even though it was kinda messy. I created a spiral on the top right and I used magenta and blue for my colors! I've always wanted to tie dye a shirt because it looks so pretty and fun. I learned that when you are doing tie dye, you need to choose the color carefully! In the fourth week, I made a collage! It was really fun , and I enjoyed it. I found pictures in the magazine and i cut them out and glued them on my paper. I think collages are cool because you are making art and giving the pictures a new meaning.
